Basketball Grades K-3

Youth in grades K-3 will have the opportunity to play and learn the basic skills of basketball in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment.  They will also have the opportunity to perform during the half-time of a varsity basketball game in front of all the Charger Fans!

Grades K-1  
7 Saturdays, Dec. 6,13,20.  Jan. 3, 10, 17, 24
8:30 to 9:30 am
High School east gym (Practice at Dassel Elem. on Dec. 20 only)

Grades 2-3  
7 Saturdays, Dec. 6,13,20.  Jan. 3, 10, 17, 24
9:45 to 10:45 am
High School east gym (Practice at Dassel Elem. on Dec. 20 only)

Basketball Grade 4 
Boys and Girls will focus on the fundamentals of basketball for the first 4 sessions and do inter-league play for the last 3 sessions.  There will also be possible tournament opportunities in Jan/Feb. for these players at an extra cost TBD.   They will also have the opportunity to perform during the half-time of a varsity basketball game in front of all the Charger Fans!


Boys and Girls Traveling League Basketball  for Grades 5-6


This is competitive play for those 5th and 6th graders who wish to play traveling basketball later this winter.  The season runs from November through January.  Teams will practice two nights a week, depending on gym availability.  The League and Tournament play will be decided and organized by coaches.   The games are played at various locations and it is the responsibility of the parents to transport their child from games and practices.  Players will have the opportunity to play at halftime of a varsity game and sit the bench with the varsity team as a water boy/girl at home games. 

Practices will begin the week of Nov. 10, with dates and times depending on gym availability.  A schedule will be sent out 2 weeks prior to the start of practice.
